At first, "17:45" was simply a scheduled meeting time.We were still in the early stages of design, and every week we’d meet with the homeowner at this exact hour. Without fail, he would arrive punctually at our office, as the slanting western sunlight cast a gentle, restrained glow across the meeting table. From the very beginning, it was clear—he was someone with a brisk rhythm, sharp logic, and a deep appreciation for efficiency. Because of this, our conversations were always direct, never dragging, yet rich with detail and vivid imagery.

During that period, the lighting at each meeting was almost always the same—just when the evening light was at its softest. Light and shadow would glide across the drawings as we discussed the vision of the home, the imagination of daily life, the emotional undertones, and the breathing rhythm of the space.Back then, I secretly began to imagine:If he were to return home every day at 17:45, what kind of scene would that be?

Later, the homeowner moved in. Every evening at 17:45, he would open the door and step inside, as sunlight continued to pour in gently from the west—almost as if time had reserved this daily ritual just for him. It was a magical moment, marking the shift from "work mode" to "living mode": the sound of keystrokes and meetings came to an end, the aroma of dinner slowly began to rise, and the quiet space gently unfolded into an evening that belonged entirely to him. This space became the vessel that carried him through that transition.

We designed many subtle cues for this very moment. For instance, the large west-facing windows in the living room allow natural light to pour in freely. Or the painting Time Boundary, hung just behind the sofa, a collaborative piece we curated with the artist—gently greets the homeowner each day with shifting expressions of light, softly whispering: “Welcome home.”

InThe light-strip ceiling extends from the entry hallway to the kitchen, like a softly glowing lantern that gently envelopes the space. It illuminates every corner of the home, while allowing the brightness to be adjusted according to different moods and moments, always setting the perfect tone.

Entering the master bedroom, a photograph quietly hangs on the wall—white waves crashing into foam along the shore. It draws the gaze toward a distant horizon, like a reflection of one’s inner state: motion within stillness, a subtle yearning for freedom nestled within the everyday.

Light gives the space a distinct character at different times of day:
In daylight, natural light pours in, gently resting on the soft bed and walls; At night, warm lighting softly illuminates the room, wrapping it in a quiet, comforting calm.Whether in day or night, this space always offers a sense of pure tranquility.

In one corner of the bedroom lies the owner's study. When left open, it extends the sense of space and visual continuity; but when focus or quiet reflection is needed, a simple pull of the door turns it into a peaceful, private writing nook.

What about you? When is your golden hour at home? Is it the soft light of early morning? The warm glow of a setting sun?
Or a quiet, unspoken moment that always makes you pause—without even realizing it?
